Statistics service confirms Russia’s 2015 CPI at 12.9%, 0.8% Dec
MOSCOW, Jan 12 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price index (CPI) amounted to 12.9% in 2015 and 0.8% in December, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement Tuesday confirming its data released on December 31.
Food prices grew 14% in 2015 and 1.2% on the month in December, while prices for non-food products rose 13.7% in 2015 and 0.4% in December.
Prices for fruits and vegetables increased most significantly in December. Prices for tomatoes and cucumbers rose 29.7% and 19.7%, respectively. Lemon prices rose 14%, grapes prices increased 12.3% and prices for cabbage rose 8.1%. Orange prices fell 0.3%.
Prices for yoghurts, curd snacks, pickled herring, peppercorns and canned fish increased 1.8–2.2% in December. Pork, poultry, rice and table water price fell 0.2–0.7%.
